What is ClassSub?
ClassSub is a sub-coverage coordination tool for fitness instructors. It works for yoga, pilates, barre, group fitness, dance, and pretty much anything class-based. When you can't teach, you post a sub request. Instructors you trust (in groups you create or get invited to) claim it. We handle routing, reminders, and calendar sync so classes don't get missed.
How is this different from a marketplace?
ClassSub is intentionally a trusted-circle model, not a public marketplace. Your sub requests only go to people you've added to your group. No randos claiming your class. We also include an anti-poaching reminder so subbing once doesn't become a job offer.
Is there a charge to use ClassSub?
No charge today. No card on file, no trial expiry, no premium tier hiding features. We may eventually add paid tools for studio owners. If anything ever changes for instructors, we'll say so directly, no surprise invoices.
I forgot my password.
Tap "Forgot password?" on the sign-in screen, enter your email, and we'll send a reset link.
How do I delete my account?
In the app go to Settings and tap "Delete my account" (below Sign out). Everything you put into ClassSub (groups, sub requests, claims, messages, profile) gets removed right away.
Can I use ClassSub at multiple studios?
Yes. You can be a member of as many groups as you want, and post / claim subs across them. Each studio you teach at would typically have its own group.
Does ClassSub handle payments?
Not currently. You can record the agreed pay amount on each sub request as a coordination signal, but the actual money moves between you and the sub directly (Venmo, Cash App, cash, etc.).
What's the difference between "instant" and "request" claim mode?
In Instant mode the first qualified instructor to claim gets the class. In Request mode claims go to you or an admin for approval, so you can pick from multiple volunteers. You set this per post.
What's SOS?
If a class is about to start and nobody has claimed it, tap SOS. Every eligible instructor gets a priority alert right away, bypassing head-start windows. Use it when you're out of time.
What does "Pass" do? Will the poster know?
Pass silently dismisses a sub request from your feed. The poster never sees it and never gets a notification. It's a low-friction way to say "not this one" without the social weight of an explicit decline. You can undo from the toast or restore later from Settings, under Passed requests.
Will subbed classes show up in my Calendar?
Yes. Grant Calendar permission and any class you claim gets written to your system Calendar with reminders at 24h, 4h, 1h, and 30 minutes before. ClassSub only writes events. It never reads your existing calendar.
My group's admin left / I need to transfer ownership.
Ownership can be transferred by the current group owner in the group's settings. If the owner is no longer reachable, email us at [email protected] and we'll work it out.
Report a bug / request a feature
Tap "Send feedback" in the Settings tab. It pre-fills your version and device info so we have everything we need. You can also email [email protected] directly.
